Second “National Music Auditorium” International Composition Contest

Description:

The BBVA Foundation and Spanish Ministry of Culture have called the second edition of the “National Music Auditorium” International Composition Contest, in order to recognize and promote the best international musical creation and find it a wider public within Spain.

The Contest is open to composers of any nationality, without limit of age. Each composer must submit a single work of 10 to 15 minutes’ duration, which has not been published, premiered or granted any other award, with the title under which it is presented or any other.

A jury of reputed international experts will select up to five compositions from the submitted works, which will be performed by the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir (OCNE) at a live concert on 8 January, 2011. After the concert, the jury will meet to announce its verdict and present the prizes.

 

Prizes
First prize: €30,000
Second prize: €15,000
Third prize: €8,000

 

The winning composition will be scheduled by the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir  (OCNE) as part of its regular 2012-2013 season.

 

The finalist works will also be recorded for CD release at the concert on January 8, 2011.
